I’ve been in Hong Kong for a little over a week now and I’m grateful for the experience, it’s not everyday your company sends you to a city as lovely as Hong Kong (all paid for too) to work in fashion (dream for working in fashion = accomplished lol). I’m lucky, very lucky and before I know it, it’ll be all over. So enjoy it whilst it lasts π
So! A couple of snapshots of life here so far π Not that interesting, but I promise to work harder, be a little braver and more daring with my photography π I am half tempted to try and vlog whilst on the streets, but… that would take some real balls of steel… and I’m still trying to find mine :3
Seriously, the Head Quarters for the company I work for NEXT to these old run down apartments. I thought the contrast was hilarious, but apparently this is normal?
A really popular eatery alley right next to HQ, people sit on crates to eat, yes! Office people in suits! Absolutely unheard of in Australia :O
The view down from my apartment, if you’re familiar with HK you can probably work out there I’m staying ;D
The direct view from my apartment, so beautiful :O I’m pretty much looking straight into the client site I’m currently working from. Btw, one of the best clients I’ve worked for, it’s one of the things I’m going to be so sad to leave when I go home π
The street I walk everyday to get to work π It’s like a 7-10 min walk tops, so very nice. Though the weather here tends to be around 30 degrees everyday so super humid!
Your eyes are not fooling you, they have ENTIRE shops of just MUFE here O_O Yes, I too had a mini heart attack before I handed over my wallet *_____*
My little kitchen that is pretty much untouched because I can’t cook π Or at least cooking for 1 person is no fun, and hi I currently live in HK!? Cheap food is EVERYWHERE!
My bed π I was given a one bedroom apartment to live in, it’s very spacious and I loves it π
Good night! π

Please please please do try the food around you. HK has some of the best wonton noodles, yumcha and lots of incredible food around if you dare to venture into the seedy looking places!! They aren’t really seedy, just rundown.. haha.
Looking forward to a haul post!

Ooh I went for this amazing peking duck in this tiny hidden away very rundown cafe a few nights ago and it was the best peking duck I’ve ever had!! The guy cut up the whole duck at our table, and it was just dripping with juice XD I should have taken photos, think my boss took some so I’ll grab them off him! π Seems the best food comes from really rundown areas but I only dare go with company XD;

I’m surprised how spacious it is given it’s HK! Thanks Tina <3 I'll do my best, it would be lovely if you ever got the opportunity π

I know at times you’ll be homesick but enjoy and indulge the wonderful city of Hong Kong. So much to do and eat there plus shopping. Do you know how to speak Cantonese? It certainly will be a lot easier if you know how to communicate in Cantonese a bit. I wish I could go to Hong Kong =)
Celina says
Thanks Cynthia, being home sick can really wear me down, but I’m doing my best to stay focused and enjoy the now π And hopefully if I ever get sent overseas again, I’ll be able to cope much better π I don’t speak a lick of Chinese at all so it is tough, esp when people assume I’m a local lol

Celina says

Awesome pictures! Also, time for a TL;DR comment.
I visited Hong Kong with my mother maybe two years ago and it was so fun; cheap food (OH MY GOD BLACK TOFU) and the shopping. The shopping. But yeah, I was dependent on my mother for the Cantonese side of things; it was pretty … discomforting, even though there were sales reps who could speak English as well. The public transport is pretty amazing too. Hong Kong feels really … fast to me, but that’s probably because there are like 29347328497 people running around the place.
Your apartment’s really lovely, too. (I’d love to live in an apartment; the only problem is, an apartment’s not an ideal place to teach piano.)
I hope you feel better soon! I can imagine how lonely it would be (I’m the kind of person who’s always in communication with somebody; either in person, or at home on the net, or on my phone … <= *a little sad ._.*) I'm sure you're doing amazing work. Even if you don't want to do a video log, your pictures and entries are interesting and fun, and I imagine everybody would rather you feel comfortable?
Take care. <3

Look at Mitsu taking up so much room on the bed XD;;; *just like real life…*
Glad that you’re settling in and that you’re enjoying yourself a lot more!

Haha I think i would’ve blindly handed over my wallet at MUFE and then had a heart attack AFTER XD I’m so jealous that you’re in HK, I was going to go for my birthday but then my friends couldn’t afford it. Still really bummed about that and I’ll have to go one day, even if it’s by myself.
