Remember a couple of weeks ago when I mentioned that sunrise shots were difficult to shoot? Well this was one of those moments.
This time partnered with Jimmy America, we set out to find sunrise over the rocky cliffs, walking 45 degrees down over sand, grass and rocks in pitch black for a good 15-20 mins (thank goodness for the torch feature on our phones, that came in very handy!). Climbed up to a secluded area over the rocks, where the pools of water were so incredibly still that we were certain we could capture a beautiful reflection of the sky in the water.
But it was not meant to be.
Despite facing directly East, the sun rose JUST behind the cliffs we were next to and so rather than witnessing the sun rise, the sky we saw was a soft purple glow. Ultimately it didn’t make for bad photos in the least, it almost felt a little apocalyptic in some shots given all the extra mist, which was a very happy mistake.
So while things may not have gone to plan, I’d still put this down as having been a very successful endeavour 🙂
