Not sure about you, but I’m not a very consistent sort of person in some regard. For example, I can’t eat the same type of food often and I don’t like using the same products for extended periods at a time. I like mixing stuff up, even if it is just a small unnoticeable change to others.
I don’t wear often wear makeup day to day. However there are a couple of “essential” pieces that I try to include on even my most laziest of days if I can manage. Those two are eyeliner and mascara.
I switch between gel eyeliners, liquid eye liners and powder eye liners all the time. However lately, I’ve been rather obsessed with trying to use up some of my pencil liners. Especially the crazy number of sample Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils in Zero. (Seriously they come in almost every single gift set from UD!!)
However I find it very difficult to get a smooth thin line unless I am constantly sharpening my pencils. So an alternative is using an angled brush, which if you watch my Book of Fables series you’ve noticed me do a couple of times.
I take the brush to the pencil, and then I dab the brush on my upper lash line, as the formula isn’t the smoothest, I find dabbing to be the best way to avoid dragging my eyelids.
Do you guys have any other “strange” makeup habits you’ve picked up? I’m thinking of moving back to gel liner since I’m pretty much only a few weeks off finishing up my MAC Fluidline Blacktrack. I’m hoping that this year I’ll be able to finally polish off a few other makeup products π

I have the same problem with Lancome Khol Crayons in Noir…Would love to try the UD 24/7 pencils since everyone raves about them so much!

I never use pencil liners for the upper lash line because I can’t get a thin or smooth enough line, so I should try this! π

Let me know how it goes! π I find it works a charm for me π

I use the remains of my B&BW candles as solid perfume by melting them into a little tin and rubbing the scented wax on my wrists and neck!
Celina says
Oh wow, that’s very economical! And I bet you smell amazing π

For some weird reason, I can never wear a lipstick on its own. I always wear, at most, 3 different lipsticks in one go. That’s not to say I go nuts with the application but if I feel like my red lippie is a bit too much, a bit of MAC’s Creme D’ Nude will help soften it up a bit or I’ll swipe on some pink lipstick to add some warmth.
Yes, I am as loco as I sound lol
Celina says
Duude, that’s totally understandable, it’s like custom making your lipstick! π

When I use pencil, I just go for a much thicker, smudgy look. It’s just easier than sharpening them all the time!
Celina says
That’s true! I always tend to try and start with a thin line, but because I tend to “miss” a little on the other eye, and the line just keeps getting thicker X-x;
Jos says
Yay! I’m not the only one who does that. I’ll try this brush on pencil thing and hopelly will have more control on the the thickness. Thanks!
Celina says
Yay! π I’m so glad to know I’m not alone~

I tend to go for a messy smudged in look on the weekends with kohl pencils because I have to look quite perfect and presentable at work I love a more smudgy, lived in look on weekends! Love kohl pencils
Celina says
I think you look amazing with a smudged line π Very sultry <3

That’s a great tip, I also hate sharpening my eye pencils often! Is the brush in the picture the MAC 263 Small Angle Brush? I have a flat synthetic eyeliner brush from Smashbox which creates lines a little thick for my liking so I wonder if the MAC one would be better.
Celina says
I was actually using I think the angled brush from Sigma? But if you’re looking for a think line, I do recommend MAC, theirs so far is the thinnest I’ve found π (alternatively paint brushes at a craft sort work just as well!)
Jeanne says
I’ll definitely check both brushes out. I do have a tiny paint brush I got about a year ago that I use for gel eyeliners but the bristles don’t seem to be holding up as well my makeup-specific brushes. Thanks for the info!

Pleasure <3 π

I don’t think i’ve picked up any strange habits yet, but it’s only been a half year that i’ve been actively wearing makeup on an everyday basis. Is it weird that I can’t wait to develop my own makeup quirks?
Celina says
lol! You have to blog about any makeup quirks when you discover them, because I would love love to read about them π And no, totally not weird at all!
