If there is one product in my skincare regime that I swear by, it’s cleansing oil. Especially if you are someone who wears makeup often, then cleansing oil is a must! For me, it’s the best way to remove all my makeup. And that includes people who do have oily skin, because you aren’t applying the oil to let it sink it. It completely washes off once your face comes into contact with water.
The way it works for me is before I take a shower in the evening, I will take a few pumps (more or less depending on the brand you are using) and very gently rub the oil all over my face. I will spend extra time working the product through my lashes to remove the mascara and around my eyes to remove all the liner.
This is a great time to essentially give yourself a facial massage, and I do this by focusing on my pressure points. It’s incredibly relaxing and a great way to ease your mind into switching off for the night.
Personally, I need to make sure I have a generous amount of oil so that my fingers can move smoothly against my skin. There should be zero resistance and I’d rather go through my cleansing oils faster, rather than try and conserve the product and not enjoy the experience (if that makes sense!)
When I’m readying to rise it off, I’ll hop in the shower and all the oil washes off seamlessly. There should be absolutely no residue what so ever, and my skin always feels completely refreshed and clean.
I think a bit reason why it’s such a favourite step of mine is because it shifts my active mind into a calmer one. It’s a bit like how I love putting on makeup in the morning, as that jolts me from sleepy mode into “boss” mode for the day.
If you are interesting in try cleansing oil out, my current favourite is Shuuemura, however if you’re looking for something with a more manageable price point then I recommend Biore 🙂
Do you use cleansing oils as part of your daily skincare regime? And if so, what are your favourites? I love trying new brands!
