A couple weeks ago Lancôme kindly invited me to attend a small gathering where they launched their latest Dreamtone line. To give you a bit of background, the Dreamtone line is Lancôme’s answer for a Dark Spot Corrector.
It comes in three “shades”, though I use the term loosely because realistically anyone of any skin tone could use any of the three “shades” provide, as they each target different issues of the skin and so it really depends on what your needs are. Typically however the lighter shades are aimed to repairing issues people with lighter skin often face, and the darker shades are aimed at issues people with darker skin more commonly face.
Light is aimed at people who are trying to reduce redness of their skin. Medium is aimed at those who are fighting sallow skin and Dark is aimed to help fade away blemish marks.
I’ve personally been using Lancôme Dreamtone in Medium for the last two weeks, I used two pumps every morning and night during my skin care routine, and while I can’t say I noticed any huge changes, generally I feel my skin does appear subtly more even toned and brighter.
I say the change is subtle because I went ahead and took photos of my bare skin before using Dreamtone and then 2 weeks later, and I can’t see any obvious changes on camera except for a couple of small patches of redness that has disappeared caused by dry skin.
Application and scent wise, it does have a lovely maybe very subtle floral scent? (I’m terrible at describing scents!), and it whilst it does appear to have some colour in the swatch, once blended out and applied to your skin it won’t provide any coverage what so ever! Which just means really any shade is suitable for any skin tone, it just depends on what your needs are.
I do love the packaging though, I love that it works as a twist top, and then the pump appears! Keeps the formula hygienic and gives you perfect control over how much formula you need to use. Also if you’re like me and enjoy layering your skin care products, then Lancôme recommends (assuming your skin care routine is exclusively Lancôme) you first apply your Advanced Genifique, then the Dreamtone and then your moisturiser etc.
Overall, if you do have concerns when colour correction regarding your skin, and you’ve got the budget for this serum then it would be worth taking a look at. If you can get a sample even better. It’s lovely to use, unfortunately I don’t have any major pigmentation issues with my skin so I can’t say either way how it responds to that.
If you’re interested, you can purchase a bottle online for just $105AUD. Why am I saying just!? Because overseas the same bottle is worth $98USD, given our exchange rate now, it’s actually cheaper to get this in Australia! Imagine that! Colour me very impressed 🙂
