Lunasol’s Sheer Glossy Eyes are part of their Fall 2012 collection, these to me are very similar to Chanel’s Illusion D’Ombres, essentially they are a pressed pigmented with an almost stiff jelly like feel. I picked up three of the four shades available, Nunace Gray, Soft Brown and Shiny Gold.
The consistency is very strange, if you touch it gently it allows you to pick up a sheer amount of colour. However press it with a little more force, and the product can actually be further compressed, like a jelly. Very cool effect!
I’ll admit to initially purchasing these because they seemed like a novelty. Quality wise, given they are a pressed pigment, they are not that pigmented. They give a lovely wash of colour over the lid and is great for an everyday almost neutral eye. But if you’re looking for something smokey and dramatic, this isn’t for you.
Frankly, I really do love these! I find they work much better when applied first with an eye primer, then with fingers. My brush didn’t do a very good job at picking any colour up.
I actually really love the eye makeup all three colours managed to create (as you can see below), I’ve been wearing this day to day a lot more and find it leaves me with such a fresh and clean look. I hear more are coming out for their Winter 2012 collection, so I’m keeping my eyes peeled for those~
