Ever since the first time I reviewed a LMdB Kaleidoscope Eye Kit, I fell in love and knew I had to own more. And here we are, with my second eye kit! And I’m already eyeing off my third… I know! It’s terrible… for my wallet…
The palette is called Chauvet Pont d’ Arc, named after a city which shares the same name, located in the south of France. This city contains some of the oldest cave paintings, which was the inspiration behind the colours selection for this palette. It comes with a total four eye shadows (Umber, Ocher, Madder and Crystalline) that slide out from the side of the palette, and a mirror that sits at the top.
I’m not that excited about the colour range for this eye kit as I was for Silk Road, probably because I find them a little less wearable. I’d like to use LMdB on a more daily bases which means I’d need to find a kit with more neutral colours. The colours here are actually quite good, minus the blue.
The quality is amazing, finely milled, pigmented and blends like a dream. I would recommend this palette purely based on quality, not on colour range. I’m a neutral addict.
As with the previous palette, the only drawback to this (well besides price) is that the pans aren’t always properly glued into the palette and can come loose. But nothing a bit of glue can’t fix. And whilst this is a luxury product and I’d expect better QA, I make the exception because of the quality of the eye shadows.
If you’re are interested, you can purchase this online for $95US.
