After hearing my beloved HT rave on and on about this product I knew I had to give it a shot. She gives some amazing recommendations and we share very similar tastes when it comes to luxury brands so I knew she couldn’t steer me wrong.
First thing I noticed is the packaging, it is soooo much lighter than the Guerlain Meteorites Voyage I reviewed a little while back. Probably because this compact is made from plastic, where as the highlighter felt more like solid metal.
When you open the compact you’ll notice a beautiful rose design set into the powder. I just love little touches like this! When you’re paying the big bucks for luxury makeup you do expect something that distinguishes them from the more drugstore brands and things like this are just lovely.
The powder has Guerlain’s signature rose scent, subtle but noticeable. The powder itself is (and I know every beauty blogger and their mum has said this) incredible finely milled. It is highly blendable and feels light as a feather on the skin. It reminds me of Maybelline’s Dream Matte powder only not has heavy and much more delicate.
And while it does do a good job at setting your foundation, if you’re like me and wear glasses then you’ll need a finishing spray to set everything else you’ll end up with some very attractive marks around the bridge of your nose.
Definitely a big fan of this powder! It’s one of the better powders I’ve tried as part of my collection, but due to the price point whether it suits you or not really depends on your priorities. I’d personally be willing to invest in it 🙂
