How gorgeous is Dior’s Holiday Eye Palette? The packaging truly reminds me of their handbag line 🙂 Petite and feminine. When I first laid eyes on this palette I knew I wouldn’t have any problems using this often, after all I do love me some browns and neutrals for everyday wear. (you know along with the other 50 neutral eye / nude palettes I own….*sigh*)
The quality of these shadows was absolutely amazing, they are incredibly soft, buttery, smooth, pigmented and if I could think of more positive adjectives to describe it I’d consider using them too. I’ll be honest, the quality surprised me despite being Dior, only because I haven’t had the best experience with their palettes in the past.
The first two shadows are first class all the way, they swatched beautifully! The third highlighter shade was probably a notch or two below that, mostly because it appears to contain more glitter / shimmer, and the swatch is a bit more grainy.
This doesn’t mean it’s a bad shadow, but what it does mean is the pigmentation wouldn’t be as opaque as a non-glitter version, and that this would really compliment a smokey brown eye for night time.
It looks great in the inner corner of your eyes, reminds me of the night stars. Unless you were using a very light hand, I can’t see the highlighter working well for during the day, far too much glitz.
The liner was beautiful, deep and rich brown which works great at creating softer smokey eyes, as opposed to lining your eyes with a black which would make them smoulder more. The only thing I have an issue with is the cream liner in a non air tight palette since it could dry up before you finish using it. I wouldn’t know for sure since I’ve only recently purchased this palette, but it’s something to keep in mind.
All in all, you’re definitely paying a fair amount for both the name and the packaging, $48US is nothing to sneeze at. I’m not going to say the quality completely makes up for the price tag, but what I will say is you are getting top quality product for your money along with the brand name and packaging. 🙂 Makes for a great gift!

I considered getting this, but given that I have Naked it didn’t seem like a reasonable purchase. ; _ ; But the packaging is so pretty~

I just got this palette a couple of days ago and I absolutely LOVE it! I have plenty of neutrals but I love Dior and wanted to give this palette a try as well, and even though I am planning on getting the Urban Decay NAKED 2 when it hits stores I still got this because its limited edition. The colors are all stunning and even the darkest color isnt too much for my fair skin. My only complaint is that the liner will probably dry out if I dont use it up pretty fast because of the package its in. It IS a TINY palette so it is pricey if you are used to Urban Decay. You only get 3 shadows and 1 liner. Nontheless, I am planning on using mine the entire winter months and I’m planning on buying at least 2 more and giving them away as Christmas presents.

I’m so glad you love it too! It is a luxury palette for sure, but so so good!
