Clinique recently released a new range of lip products called their “Vitamin C Lip Smoothies”, designed to be a lip product that contains Vitamin C, antioxidants whilst delivering shine and colour. To me, I saw this to be almost a day time lip conditioner. Clinique were kind enough to provide Good Guava for me to review on the blog~!
In terms of packaging and formula texture, if you’ve tried Stila’s Lip Glazes then you know exactly what these are like in terms of application.
Basically the product comes with a lip brush at the tip, and twisting the bottom of the tube will eventually dispense product through the tip for application as you can see in the photos. First time round as is the case for these type of twisty product is that you need about 10-15 twists to get the product to come through, but after that just a few twists is needed for each application.
The formula however is not as sticky as the Stila Lip Glazes. These are far more slippery and feel very moisturising on the lips. After a few hours they do tend to become a little bit more tacky and I’d say you’d probably want to reapply either after eating or after the 3-4 hr mark.
Pigmentation is very sheer, giving you just a hint of colour. The finish is very shiny, I noticed my lips stood out much more in photos despite the minimal pigmentation.
If you suffer from chapped or dry lips then this is a great alternative to standard lip balm during the day, probably not suitable for incredibly windy days unless you tie your hair back! I tend to have a lot of stray strands of hair which love to stick to my lips when I wear more liquid formulas.
If you’re interested, you can purchase these either from Myer or David Jones or directly from the Clinique website for $35AUD each. There are 12 more shades to choose from.
