Last year when Chanel released their 2011 Holiday collection, I was absolutely gutted when I missed their eye shadow palette. It had rave reviews all over the blogosphere and I found myself increasingly jealous of all the blog posts and swatches…. not this year! This year I stalked the internet like a hawk, waiting for this palette to be released online so I could pounce on it before it sold out.
And as you can see, I was clearly fast enough 🙂 This is the signature eye shadow palette for Chanel’s Holiday 2012 collection~ It contains beautiful four eye shadows with a radiant sheen embossed with the Chanel monogram. Starting with a bronze-gold, a smoky taupe, violet-plum and pink shadow. I adore this palette, and I’m sure that is in no part influenced by the fact that I hunted this for weeks and it is Chanel!
The pigmentation is even and amazing, as you can see in the swatches below. Buttery smooth and finely milled, these shadows blended out to create a rich gradient easily. Very little work required to achieve the look you see below.
All in all, love this palette! I’m still only slightly upset I missed out last year, but just glad I managed to snap this one up. It’s not often you find eye shadows that blend out like a dream 🙂
If you’re quick, you may be able to still obtain this for $65US online. Or if you’re based in Australia, then try hitting up either Myer or David Jones, I believe it is going for around $90 – $100AU.
