Living in Australia unfortunately means these pressed powder quads are not readily available. In fact the only place I’ve been able to find them is by ordering them in from the USA ๐ In Australia just the baked quads are available, which I’m really not a huge fan of given the level of pigmentation and lack of richness in colour. The formula always appears to be overly frosty and application is never as smooth and buttery as the pressed version.
Therefore I’ve made it my mission to obtain as many pressed quads as possible!
Today I’ll be talking about Dunes! This is a primarily neutral eye shadow quad that is highly wearable for everyday~ Just the way I like them ๐
It consists of four shades, a mostly matte beige colour, a shimmery soft pink shade, a more brown taupe shimmer shade and a matte chocolate brown shade. These shades can create a range of similar looks, ranging from minimal to smokey brown eyes~
Like most of the pressed powdered quads, the quality here is pretty amazing. I find most Chanel pressed powders can appear a bit too chalky if you apply too much pressure when swatching with your fingers, though I found this to be more the case for the matte shades rather than shimmery. However when using a brush for application, you won’t experience the same chalkiness.
Instead you’ll find yourself getting a lighter wash of colour. Definitely not as deep and pigmented as say the Tom Ford quads, but really great for those looking for a softer look who may not be as familiar with makeup and controlling pigments.
All in all, I personally love the Chanel pressed powder quads! Miles better than the awful baked versions, and if you are a fan of Chanel and want to try their eye shadows, go the pressed powders. You’ll be saving yourself a lot of grief later down the road.
