When it comes to Chanel eye shadows, if you want guaranteed quality then I would always recommend these single eye shadows. The baked eye shadow quads usually have pretty standard if not poor pigmentation, unfortunately the baked version is the only version available globally except for the pressed which is USA only.
So being in Australia with only the baked versions available, I’d opts for the singles every time!
Introducing Gri Gri and Hasard, the two new shades introduced as part of Chanel’s Fall 2013 collection. Both shades are very similar, wearable taupe shades that can be used as a wash of colour all over the lid or into the crease for some definition.
Personally I’d used Gri Gri as more a wash due to its shimmery nature and Hasard being matte works better for contouring the eyes.
Out of the two, I find the pigmentation on Hasard far better than Gri Gri. It’s much stronger and easier to blend out. Depends on your needs if you need to choose between the two, though because I do tend to use mattes so much more than shimmery shades for work, I’d opt for Hasard purely from a practical stand point.
Gri Gri is a more fun, but the pigmentation is not as good and takes a couple more swipes to build up the colour.
Note that in the photos below I have used an eyelid primer before applying the shadows, which I always do.
Chanel’s single eye shadows have never disappointed me, always great quality 🙂
If you’re keen, you can check these out online for $28.50USD.
