Another product from the Bobbi Brown’s Holiday 2012 collection, I’ve never seen a product like these pigments before so I was very curious to try them out.
Essentially these are loose pigments, when you open the lid you’ll notice the applicator is in fact a sponge tip applicator (how I don’t have a photo of this I have no idea!) attached to a spring which is connected to the lid.
The first thing I noticed about this was how poorly the packaging was put together. The minute you pull the lid off, you’re likely to get some pigment from the applicator falling out straight away, which makes this messy even at the best of times to use. Huge problem with this product, no matter how good the pigment is, it’s already created a mess all over my desk.
If you see the swatches I created, you’ll get an idea as to what sort of fall out I was dealing with when extracting the applicator as well as applying the product directly. As you can see it is very difficult to get a smooth even application. To smooth it out I needed to take a blending brush to it. Not my biggest complaint because I always prefer to use my own brushes.
But the fall out I encountered was pretty unacceptable, I couldn’t imagine actually using these products especially if I were in a rush.
That said, the pigments themselves were very lovely. Buttery smooth, rich in colour and pigment and blended seamlessly. Essentially Bobbi Brown has released some truly amazing pigments with some horrid packaging. I think once they take a second look at the packaging this could potentially be a stand out product.
If you’re interested in purchasing this product, you can get it online for $46US or visit the Australian Bobbi Brown website to purchase it for $65AU.

I love the look you did with them. Shame the packaging is so unpractical!
