Another Holiday 2012 review! This time of year is just the best for a beauty blogger, so many great collections~ This Bellini Lip & Eye Palette is no exception, similar to Bobbi Brown’s Palette from 2010, this palette contains 10 eye shadows, 4 lip colours and 2 applicators.
The packaging is very similar, a mirror panel to separate the eye shadow from the lip colours, which is great at preventing fall out. (A huge issue with palettes that contain both lip products and powdered products.
The lip colours are beautiful, but really don’t have much pigmentation from what I tried. They all seemed pretty sheer and similar to me. Not the greatest hit for me, and a bit of a disappointment.
The eye shadows however are really stand out! This is absolutely perfect for any neutral lover (aka me). Perfect range of mattes and shimmery finishes, along with a matte black shadow that can either be used as a liner or to turn the look from day to night.
The pigmentation is not as strong as say Tom Ford, but like I’ve mentioned before, pigmentation is not the be all and end all for eye shadow. In fact for most people, especially those who aren’t confident with their makeup skills, Bobbi Brown shadows are perfect. You can’t actually pick up a large amount of pigment which means you never have to worry about going in too heavy and then having to blend it out. It helps “pace” yourself and build up the colour gradually.
So far this is one of my favourite product from this year’s Holiday 2012 collections, perfect for travel and everyday! If I weren’t a beauty blogger who constantly needs to rotate her makeup, I could see myself settling with this easily 🙂
Interested? This palette goes for $75US online.
