I know! You’re wondering, “Celina, you’re back home now, where is the Book of Fables!?”. Trust me, I have five, count them FIVE looks already filmed and ready to be edited… and that’s the problem, since coming back I’ve been unpacking my insane amount of luggage and then I jumped straight back into work which has been consuming all my free time.
So yep, that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it π But you can expect the series to return starting next Friday π
Let’s talk about this mascara by Benefit, I was sent this product JUST before I left for Hong Kong and decided to take it with me to try out π I had heard a lot of great reviews surrounding this product and so was keen to see whether it could live up to the hype, and admittedly I really do love it!
The key aspect for me is the wand, it has larger spikes at the tip, which is great for separating my lashes as well as grabbing the ones on the inner corner of my eye.
The result are fluttery lashes with above average length and volume. It reminds me of the effect I get when I use individual false lashes on the outer corner of my eye. Really do love it.
A couple of downsides is every time I use this mascara on my lower lashes, a few hours later I find it can smudge and it’s generally very difficult to use on my lower lashes to begin with. Granted mine are almost non-existent, but I think you’ll find a thinner smaller wand more effective.
All in all, this is a great mascara, its ranks up there with my Covergirl Lash Blast, Maybelline The Falsies and my favourite Lancome’s Hypnoseπ

I’ve been wanting to try the new Benefit mascara for a while but I’m not really that sure – it looks like the result I get from YSL Faux Cils. Can I ask – is the formula quite wet or is it drier?
Personally though I prefer your lashes without the mascara – they look long and soft already!
Celina says
It’s pretty wet! I’m dying to try YSL Faux Cils myself, I’ve heard amazing things!
Aww thank you so much, I never get comments on my natural lashes so I’m really surprised and truly flattered!

This mascara looks lovely on your lashes. I’m really curious to try it too. I don’t use mascara on my lower lashes so the smudging wouldn’t be a problem for me. Thanks for the review.
Celina says
My pleasure! I’m looking forward to reading your review now π

I really wanna try that but I just got a new mascara just a few weeks ago and I try to stick with the same tube till it runs out… Hmmm I will just have to reapply my mascara every 30 mins, then in about a week or so I will be able to get a new one. Lol. I also prefer your lashes without mascara… So soft and wispy!
Celina says
LOL I know that feeling Rin, I have a stack of mascaras that I buy when specials run (or when I was overseas) and I so desperately want to start using them, but because they go off so quickly, I must be good and use up my current mascaras first! (I’m silly and usually have 2-3 going at once).
Aww, thank you. Wow, I’m so surprised and very very flattered that I got two lovely girls telling me they prefer my natural lashes! :O

After getting my brows done at Benefit last night they tried this on me and it was amazing, I got lots of compliments! My issue was the clumping, but you said it wasn’t a problem so I’m now thinking it was that I didn’t use the actual wand, just a tester one.
My only other problem is that getting it off without make up remover this morning was impossible!
Celina says
Hmm, yes I found using the ball spike at the end really helped separate my lashes better. If you can spare the cash, I’d give it a shot and see what you think. I think it’s certainly worth a go, even if you can’t get rid of the clumping with the actual wand, you can always use a plain mascara wand to help (though when you pay this much for a mascara, you’d hope it wouldn’t come to that!)
If you decide to go for it, do post about it on your blog π I read everything you write!! <3

Awww, thanks so much, Celina! That means a lot. π I think I have to get this mascara, it’s been in the back of my mind all weekend.
Tanya says
ooooh… i’ve got spiky totally not curly asian lashes. have you tried max factor?
Celina says
Ohh no I haven’t! Which mascara are you referring to? I’m keen to try π
Tanya says
False lash effect.
But after visiting the website, I’m thinking I should try Masterpiece Max!
