The Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Blush in Truth is one of the newest shades to join the large range of liquid blush shades already available. However unlike the main range of blushes, this one only comes in a mini version which is amazing value when it comes to these blushes. Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Blushes are know for being incredibly pigmented, a single dot can go a long way and so a full size might expire before you are able to finish it up. The Rare Beauty Soft Pink Blush in Truth is available at either Sephora Australia for $27AUD or Sephora USA for $14USD.
Mini vs Regular Value
The most notable thing about this newest shade to join the Soft Pinch Blush family is that currently it is only available in a mini size, as opposed to the rest of the range which is mostly only available in the regular size. The difference is close to less than half, with the mini size containing 3.1ml of product for $27AUD and the regular size containing 7.5ml for $45AUD. This means that technically based on unit price, it is still cheaper to buy the regular version but you also need to take into consideration how much you intend to use.
If this is your only liquid blush that you use every day and plan to until you run out, then the regular version is your best bet. But if you’re anything like me, and enjoy having a range of colours and brands to choose from then the mini is perfect since it’s unlikely you’ll ever actually finish the entire product to begin with so paying for a mini just enabled me to pick up two colours instead of one.
Application & Wear
The great thing about cream and liquid blushes is that there is a wide variety of ways you can apply them depending on your personal preference. Some people enjoy using their fingers, some will use a damp sponge and I prefer using a brush. A brush and damp sponge does tend to absorb some of the product which means you get a bit of wastage, but I’m not the biggest fan of using my fingers as I tend to be doing multiple things at once as I apply my makeup and need to keep my hands relatively clean.
Fortunately the pigmentation for this blush against my skin tone is so strong that a single light dot is almost too strong for me even once I’ve blended it out with a brush, I can only imagine how strong it would appear if I had used my fingers! And this blends out like a dream, so smooth and perfectly, which surprised me because of how deep the pigment was on me, I was worried it would end up being patchy. You can see in the photo how soft the edges of the blush placement is, I was very pleasantly very surprised!
The Truth shade on me appears to be a softer berry shade, looks amazing, almost a little vampy on my skin tone and I think would appear beautifully on deeper skin tones. My limited experience with the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Blush range is that they are pretty versatile without any ashiness in the formula, making it more flexible for a range of skin tones.
Overall
This has quickly become a staple in my every day makeup collection, most of my cream blushes were either light pink or coral and this gives me access to a slightly deeper option for days when I want my makeup to stand out a little more. I love how easily this blends out, as well as how pigmented it is! It feels like I’m getting true value for money. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to give a liquid blush a go unless you have an extremely light skin tone, then potentially you may find this blush a bit too deep for you (unless that’s the look you are going for!)
