Natasha Denona’s latest large eyeshadow palette is filled with warm neutral shades called the Natasha Denona I Need a Warm palette. This eyeshadow palette follows a long line of stunning high quality palettes from Natasha Denona that range from ultra wearable to strong vibrant colours. This particular palettes comes with 15 shades ranging from matte, glitter, shimmer, foiled finish, metallic and even a duo-chrome thrown in for good measure. The large range of warm neutrals is more than enough for any occasion and is perfect for those whose skin tones lean more warm. Though I personally think it will work for most people as I personally lean a little more neutral / cool toned and felt it worked well for me. The Natasha Denona I Need a Warm palette is available for sale at Sephora AU, Sephora US, Ulta, Beautylish for $125AUD or $69USD.

- Dynamism – Medium-dark golden brown with a metallic finish
- Flashover – Medium clay brown with a matte slip cream finish
This particular palette comes with two new innovative formulas that don’t feature in any of her previous palettes. The first is the Slip Cream Matte formula which comes in the Flashover shade, which compared to the other mattes has a more buttery velvet feel to it. It took me by surprise when I first touched the shade, it was so incredibly soft and actually felt like I was touching velvet. And the second is The High Foiled Metal Gloss formula which comes in Homie and Snug, these shades may look like thick glitter in the pan however when you swatch them, they are smooth and extremely finely milled. They swatch almost like a rich shimmer shade, but with a reflective dimension. It almost looks like liquid metal on the eye lids.
Application
When it comes to quality, pigmentation and texture Natasha Denona palettes are right up there are some of the best the industry have to offer. However I don’t think a Natasha Denona palette is for a beginner makeup enthusiast, as it takes a certain level of experience to navigate the palette.
An example are the matte shades, matte shades that are beginner friendly tend to be harder in texture and are much more forgiving when it comes to application and blend ability, though you are to some degree restricted with how intense you make a look because of the hardness of the shadow. It generally gives the user a much more wearable softer look. However the mattes in this palette are very different, they are way more pigmented and will apply very patchy if you don’t use a light hand to help build the intensity. The great thing is though this means you can create stunning sultry looks to everyday wearable looks. Essentially it means the palette is far more versatile, which is something I think a lot of experienced makeup lovers love.
Wear
Whilst the application and texture of these shadows are amazing, I can’t say the wear time was anything too exceptional which may or may not be a deal breaker for some people. The eyeshadow look appears amazing upon first application and would hold up wonderfully for a dinner or a lunch, but if you’re looking for the same intensity over the course of an entire work day, then you will likely experience some level of fading by the mid afternoon. This doesn’t shock me, nor would it personally deter me as if I plan to wear an eyeshadow look for an entire day I don’t tend to go for an intense look. I always go for something nice and subtle, which usually does last the entire work day.
Final Thoughts
I’m a sucker for a good eyeshadow palette, and I am in love with this palette. I don’t typically lean towards warm neutrals but I felt like these shades worked well enough for me that it still suited my skin tone. I know a Natasha Denona palette isn’t for most people especially given the price point and application skill needed so it’s a pretty personal choice. I know most of my coworkers would sooner scoff than pick up a palette like this, on the other hand, I know plenty of beauty lovers who wouldn’t blink an eye at purchasing this palette (me included).
