This is Essie’s Summer collection for 2010, I know it’s already 2011 in Australia, you can blame the biased American season released dates ๐
Anyways, I’m still kinda questioning whether there was something wrong with my polishes or whether some of the finishes for this collection was purposely meant to be matte to satin. I was expecting a shiny finish for all polishes, but as you can see below only half the collection managed that. Not a big deal, when I wear a polish out I always use top coat, I just hope it was intentional and not a sign that my polishes were defects!
On to the swatches, they are all 3 coats without any top coat.
Vermillionaire
โHeart pounding red orangeโ, personally both in person and in the photo it appears much more orange than red, I’d say this is a more opaque version of OPI’s Brights Power if you are looking for something similar that you might already own.
Pretty Edgy
“Vivid Palmetto Green”, had the best formula out of the entire collection, despite not necessarily being the most exciting colour.
Missed Matched
“Sweet, sheer, ready for anything pink”, a fantastic pink nude colour that complements my skin tone so well. However like most nudes, it’s not overly unique. I think Zoya’s Laurie is a pretty close dupe if you ask me.
Knockout Pout
“Hot supercharged pink”, this dries to an almost matte finish. Not completely matte, it does have a slight sheen to it.
Haute as Hello
“Racy, scorching coral”, this colour photographed much more muted than it appears in real life. If you’ve ever seen Mecca’s Katharina (which naturally has a glossier finish) you’ll notice they are pretty close, but not exactly the same. The colour is much more vibrant in real life.
Demure Vixen
“Iridescent cocoa mauve”, it has very slight gold micro shimmers in it to give off that iridescent sheen, and it does dry glossy. I was surprised I couldn’t find a dupe for this in my collection since I wouldn’t deem it an overly unique colour, but there you go!

Where do you get your Essie polishes from? As a fellow Aussie gal I’ve sort of breezed past the brand thinking it would be too hard/too expensive to get my hands on some.
I really love the green, my polish collection is really small and I don’t have anything like it.
How many coats of Missed Matched is that photo? My skin is olive-y so I think it might be a nice nude on me too ๐

Thanks for visiting! ๐ I personally order my polishes online and which stores varies on release times and $$. Places I recommend are Trans Design, Head 2 Toe Beauty, Ebay and Nail Etc. I know that Myer in Melbourne does sell them as well, but they go for $18.95AU a bottle, so ordering online even with the crazy shipping amounts (watch out if you order from Trans Design, they accidentally tried to charge me $90US for shipping once…) often ends up cheaper ๐ Missed Matched is 3 coats in the photo~ It’s a lovely colour ๐
