It’s been a little while since I’ve done a polish post! That’s mostly because I’ve begun the daunting task of culling back my nail polish collection to contain just polishes I actually see myself using and loving. It’s actually a job I’ve tasked myself with regarding my entire collection, but polishes seems like a good place to start 🙂
That aside, I couldn’t resist the Essie Resort 2013 collection, mostly because I’m in the mist of planning some future vacations and these just seem to fit so perfectly with my mood.
Admittedly this is a good collection with a range of interesting colours, but not all the polishes perform equally. All swatches are two coats with no top coat.
Full Steam Ahead
A lilac crème with micro silver shimmer, the polish dries smooth despite the “glitter”, but I felt that I’d probably need at least one more coat to get full opacity as the formula seemed a bit light with regards to pigmentation.
Naughty Nautical
A turquoise crème with silver micro shimmers, and my favourite from this collection. It has the best pigmentation out of all and honestly how awesome does it look? Definitely taking this with me on holiday!
Rock the Boat
A baby blue crème with micro silver shimmers, you can see from the photo that there are areas on my nails were you can still just see my nail bed. Really disappointed in this particular shade, it needs 3 coats to really come through, but honestly just not impressed.
Sunday Funday
A watermelon crème with micro silver shimmers, another great polish from this collection! Very tropical and another polish I may be taking with me on vacation.
The Girls are Out
A deep magenta / purple crème with micro silver shimmers, another favourite from this collection as it performs very similar to Naughty Nautical.
The More the Merrier
An off neon green crème, and the only polish from this collection that doesn’t contain any silver shimmers. I could take or leave this, not a colour I find myself wearing much.
