Nude polishes are my weakness, when ever I’m not 100% sure what colour I should be sporting, I always come back to my favourite pinks and beige nudes. In fact I only own one colour in my gel manicure set and surprise surprise, it’s a pink nude. I can’t help it, they are just perfect for any environment. Be it a conservative work scenario, to an evening out to a weekend away~
To accompany the start of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the lovely ladies at Essie kindly sent me their latest collection called, “Colors of Couture”.
Fashion week in any country is always so exciting, I love eagerly awaiting the new fashion and trends that flood the internet shortly after or even during the catwalk run. It would be an absolute dream to attend one day, but unfortunately, a full time job just makes it all the more difficult. So I’ll continue dreaming the dream with these amazing nude polishes ๐ All swatches are 2 coats with no top coat!
Also apologies for the blurriness of these photos ๐ I forgot to zoom in after taking these photos and once I did it was too late *sigh*
If you’re interested, these polishes are available for a limited time (March and April 2014 only) at Priceline and selected pharmacies for $16.95AUD a bottle!
Ballet Slippers
Stunning light soft pink nude. The opacity really goes up an extra notch with the 2nd coat, otherwise it is much more subtle with just one. In terms of formula, this is definitely one of the better ones I’ve tried. Good pigmentation without being too thick.
Blanc
Pure white creme, I know it’s not for everyone, but white nails just feel clean and sophisticated to me. The formula is pretty good here, the coats need to be relatively thick if you only want to use 2 coats.
Ladylike
Dusty rose creme, I found the consistency for this polish and Sand Tropaz to be on the more liquid side. Not as thick as the rest of the collection.
Master Plan
Beautiful taupe creme, lovely formula and that made application effortless.
Sand Tropaz
A lighter taupe than Master Plan, but with a rather liquid consistency like Ladylike.
Smokin Hot
Deep grey toned brown creme, it looks a bit darker in the photo than in real life, but as a dark shade there were no issues with pigmentation.
