China Glaze Poolside Summer Collection Nail Swatches

This is China Glaze’s Poolside collection, released during Summer 2010 in America (one day I would love to see collections uniquely made and released just for the southern hemisphere! None of this 6 month delayed crap).

These polishes are neon matte finishes, I have swatched them using 3 thin coats, I recommend using a thicker coat, especially for the polishes that have appeared streaky below. No top coat was used so you see what the polish’s natural finish is like.

Yellow Polka Dot Bikini

A fluorescent yellow, it’s not as bright as Essie’s Funky Limelight and so I find it to be slightly more wearable (as wearable as fluorescent yellow nail polish can be). I’m not impressed by the formula for this though 🙁 I found it to be pretty streaky and hard to work with.

Towel Boy Toy

I do love me a soothing blue with silver micro-shimmer. Thicker coats would have done this polish much justice. However unlike Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, the formula for this was amazing, it just glided on.

Sun Worshipper

A rich orange, as the name suggests it does have a glow to it. Watching the polish dry from glossy to matte was an interesting effect, especially with this particular shade as it’s natural glow started appearing.

Pool Party

A watermelon-like hot pink, great pigmented formula and like most of the polishes from this collection, easy to work with.

Kiwi Cool Ada

A bright green shade, which like Yellow Polka Dot Bikini had a very streaky formula, making it very difficult to cover my nail ridges.

Flip Flop Fantasy

This is similar-is to Pool Party, only with a bit more orange / red thrown in, so more of a coral shade than pink. Great formula, applied fantastically.

Overall
Not at all suitable for the corporate office work look, in person they are very bright and eye catching! More suitable for fun weekends, beaches, pool parties etc. I recommend applying top coat to achieve a glossy finish~
