Oh, I could get used to this. Hong Kong not only introduced me to some amazing Asian cosmetic brands, but taught me that high end cosmetics can be affordable, well… affordable if all you’re used to are the inflated prices in Australia!
Introducing Chanel, I’m already a fan of their leather goods, but haven’t delved very much into their cosmetic / skin care line… until now! Now I think I’m addicted, and there is no going back.
I quite enjoyed some of the items from their latest Fall 2011 collection, I thought I’d share with you some swatches from the nail polish line first. I found all three formulas very easy to work with, no issues π
All swatches are two coats, no top coat was used.
Graphite
Gunmetal gray with silver micro shimmer, the only polish from this collection with actual silver shimmer infused throughout the formula. Probably my least favourite as I’m not a huge fan of shimmer this granular. The finish is very smooth and formula applied well, but I’m not keen on the “salt and pepper” look most of the time.
Peridot
A duo chrome green / lime and yellow, and I think one of the most popular shades from this collection. And I can see why, the duo chrome effect is amazing, I absolutely loved it!
Quartz
A taupe silver polish, the most work friendly of the three polishes as well as being the “safest” shade. It’s a gorgeous colour which suits my skin tone amazingly well.
Graphite looks very pretty!
It’s a very unique look indeed π
Love the Peridot color – such a beautiful, unusual effect.
Isn’t it!? I think I might wear it to work tomorrow π
These are gorgeous, I’d be happy to own all of these! I dream of affordable Chanel, so I have to go to Hong Kong for a holiday, but for now I’ll just drool over your swatches!
Hmm, I doubt we’ll ever seen affordable Chanel in Australia :'(
sigh….
OOohhhhh, I actually really really like Graphite – it’s gorgeous!
If you are keen and aren’t willing to shell out the moola for Chanel, I hear Revlon has a great dupe! π
LOVE Quartz. So chic
Isn’t it!? I love it so π
Thanks for the swatches. I love their colors and the quality of the paint. The Peridot looks great on you.
