If you’ve ever tried a YSL lipstick, then you’ll know how luxurious and decadent they area. Elegant packaging that carries a hefty weight to it. And with an amazing scent. I can never quite put my finger on exactly what it is, but it has a melon / fruity smell, which is a clear favourite for me! If something smells like fruits, half the battle is already won with me.
The Rouge Volupte Shine range versus the original Rouge Volupte range, I find to be quite a bit sheerer, probably around 50% of the pigmentation of the original. However it feels quite a bit more hydrating to wear (makes sense since it contains Hyaluronic Acid, which is common is many moisturisers / moisturising serums) and leaves a beautiful glossy finish to the lips. A good pick if you’re someone who suffers from less than perfect lips (mine are usually dry).
For me, Coral Intrepid is less coral than it is like a watermelon pink, which is my favourite type of shade to wear. It’s the sort of shade I feel works well in pretty much any environment, whether it be work, the weekend, visiting family, travel etc. Certainly takes a few swipes to achieve a decent level of pigmentation so with consistent use you’ll probably watch this disappear fairly quickly. Just worth keeping in mind if you’re counting your pennies.
But I’m a sucker for these types of lip colours, well aware I probably own the same shade in 20 other brands, but I just can never get enough 🙂 If you’re keen, you can pick this up online for $35USD, or at any YSL counter at Myer or David Jones for $55AUD.
