I know the holidays are over, but I figured I’d throw this quick review in before I move on back to purely non-holiday related reviews π That and if you notice, some brands are now trying to clear their holiday gift sets by giving heavy discounts off them, now may be the best time to snap up that gift set you wanted before but couldn’t afford!
This particular Smashbox set comes with 4 eyeliners:
Onyx – A matte black
Graphite – A dark silvery gray
Orchid – A deep purple
14K – A light shimmery champagne gold
These are great quality pencils that don’t smudge (I was able to wear them for 8hrs+ without any smudging), they apply soft and have great pigmentation if you go over them a couple of times. The only one I didn’t like was 14K, because it was so hard to get any noticeable colour around my eyes. I think I’d only ever be able to use it in the inner corner of my eyes for a bit of added light.
The only annoying aspect is the size, maybe it’s just me but these pencils are probably around 10cm long and I find that made them a bit more difficult to apply? That or maybe I’m just used to using long pencils.
Overall, not bad! Nothing unique by any means, but they are certainly a nice cute gift to have / give π

I’m definitely loving this set as well. Like you, though, 14K does naught on me!

They are very lovely pencils π Glad you love them~

That length will further annoy you the more you sharpen it!
Celina says
I’m already fearing that! And usually I love sharpening my pencils too, so therapeutic! (I’m weird btw hehe)

I thought about picking up this set but I wish instead of a black AND dark grey pencil there would’ve been a brown/bronze/taupe instead
Celina says
Good point! I think it would have been much more beneficial to replace either the black or dark grey with a brown-like colour. Most of the time (unless I’m really staring someone down) I can’t really tell the difference between black and dark grey on someone’s eye!
