I’ve been through my fair share of face primers, most weren’t actually that great and very few actually did the job they were meant to. For me, face primers aren’t supposed to be used all over the face, I prefer to use them as I would spot treatment. Just apply them in areas I need them, such as my nose. Cue the NARS Pro Prime Instant Line & Pore Perfector.
As you can see by the swatch photos I have above, in one photo where I’m not wearing the product and in the second photo where I am. The natural lines on my finger have softened up a great deal. Have to admit, that bit really surprised me. But if you’re thinking that this product would be perfect for those fine lines under your eyes, I’d think again. To me this worked best on places that had a “hard” surface. Places like around the nose, knuckles, forehead etc. In part due to the application method I use, which is direct from the tube. I didn’t find using my fingers or brush did much at all as the product just sticks to the applicator instead. Think of really soft silicone wax, that was pretty much the texture and as you can imagine it loves to stick to stuff.
Which is why under the eyes just doesn’t seem to work because the skin is far too soft for you to drag the product along. That and I found that it worked when it had a firm surfaced to mould the skin to.
Since testing this out I’ve been using it religiously all over my nose, as this is not only the area that gets oily during the day, but the area I have my largest pores. As a result often my pores will show through after a few hours or more throughout the day through my foundation! Even when I go to re-powder my nose, the pores are still pretty visible and it just wasn’t never a good look (only happens with some foundations, not all!)
The foundation I am trying to use up right now is the MUFE Powder Foundation, and half way through the day my nose just looks awful (FYI I don’t recommend this powder, but I’m trying to finish it up so I can forever get rid of it), I won’t even go into detail. But since using the NARS primer, my nose while still gets oily during the day, no longer reveals all my pores shortly after! To me is a large part of the battle won because now I can just re-powder my nose and it’s almost like I’m wearing fresh makeup again.
Personally if you are having issues with lines or pores on “firmer” areas of your face, this would be worth a go! But if you’re looking for a solution for under your eyes, keep moving!
If you’re interested, you can purchase this online for $28USD or at Mecca Cosmetica for $39AUD.

What a great way to show the product in use! It’s so clear from the photographs exactly how it performed.
