I’ve come to realise that I’ve never given you guys any basis for my reviews, as in how do you know whether the moisturiser I’ve just raved about will work for you if you have no idea what sort of skin I have? And so I decided to compile a beauty profile π I’ll try my best to keep this as up to date as possible, probably add more detail as time goes on and link it from my profile. Feel free to use, add or modify if you find it useful for your own blogs π
SKIN
Type: Dry to Combination skin
Issues: Eczema, a lash glue called Lash Me is what triggered the Eczema for me many years ago and I’ve had it ever since π I will get the occasional pimple, but nothing like the way it used to be back in high school.
I have sensitive skin, as in I’m allergic to the glue on bandaids and perfume (I’ll put it on my hair or clothes if I want to use it), they give me rashes. FYI, used to be allergic to chalk, and still am very allergic to alcohol.
Routine: In the morning I’ll wash my face with warm water, apply a moisturising toner, then my vitamin c serum, followed with a moisturiser, eye cream and sunscreen.
At night I’ll do the double cleanse where I use a cleansing oil or balm first, and then a water based cleanser. After I follow with a toner, then a serum (depending on my needs it may be hydrating, whitening or anti-aging), eye cream and moisturiser.
If I have time I’ll throw in a face mask where possible, and body lotion was a must during my pregnancies and now is occasional use if I remember.
HAIR
Type: Naturally dry and wavy
Issues: Dandruff
Notes: My hair has never been chemically processed ever, and I cut it myself.
Routine: I wash my hair once a week, double shampoo and conditioner. Occasionally I’ll use a hair mask, but not always. Once my hair is towel dry I’ll apply either a leave in conditioner or hair oil, and then if there is time I’ll air dry and heat style my hair when completely dry. Else I’ll hair dry my hair and style right after.
MAKE UP
Skin Tone: Neutral toned, choice of foundation is NC15-NC20 from MAC and Sand in Bobbi Brown.
Colours: Anything goes as a beauty blogger, but my general preference is natural using cool toned neutrals.
