Currently I am on the hunt for a replacement for my favourite highlighter, NYX Mosaic in Highlighter. I know that sounds strange because NYX Mosaic is likely the cheapest highlighter in the market (and I absolutely love it), but I’m a beauty blogger, I don’t always think logically and I love trying new things!
So I gave MAC’s Mineralise Skinfinish in Landscape a go to see if it could compare. Unfortunately it doesn’t exactly, but that aside this is still a great highlighter and one I intend to use till finish (which will take a while thankfully).
Landscape is a pretty good mix between shimmery and sheen, there are no visible glitter or shimmer pieces in both the pan and application. When swatched the highlighter in fact appears like a pink toned highlighter with some sheen to it. Nothing to glitzy.
In the photo I used a MAC 130 brush to apply my highlighter, one of the two brushes I always use for applying highlighters. The result was a lovely soft glow, that in my opinion helps create better definition. It’s very subtle, the product itself being barely noticeable, but instead creates an overall effect. Something I really love about this product.
The reason I say it doesn’t exactly compare to the NYX highlighter is because firstly it’s more peach / pink toned, and secondly its got just a tad more shimmer in it when compared to the NYX Highlighter which in my opinion is almost matte. Not that that’s a bad thing to be honest, in fact I actually like the amount of sheen the MAC highlighter provides. Just in time too as I’ve officially run out of my NYX highlighter and will happily be moving on to this as my current “every day” highlighter ๐
This is a limited edition shade, but last I checked (couple weeks ago..) was still available from MAC Online for $47AU. I couldn’t find any American sites that still offered it sorry ๐
