Every time I travel through Asia there are a number of key brands I just can’t not pay a visit to. SUQQU, Jill Stuart, LM de Laduree and of course Lunasol 🙂 Lunasol is one of the many brands that sit under the parent brand called Kanebo, kind of how L’Oreal functions. Lunasol as a brand is always focused on quality, definitely one of the luxury brands that targets the everyday woman with their extensive range of neutral shades, soft pinks and long lasting moist bases (perfect for those who of us who spend the majority of our day sitting in an air-conditioned office).
I managed to of course haul a small group of products from their range that I’ve been wanting to try for a while, their lipsticks always sit at the top of my list. I find the quality of SUQQU and Lunasol lipsticks to be very comparable. Medium pigmentation, but highly moisturising and glossy. Very aimed towards the sort of makeup most girls in Asia prefer to wear (no surprises there!). I’d say they last a good 1-2 hours before you may feel the need to reapply, so the down side is these get used up very quickly!
Still, their lack of pigmentation is why I actually love this brand. They offer a subtle but distinct sense of sophistication, which for someone like myself who isn’t too keen on wearing heavy makeup to work is perfect for. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that I feel brands such as Lunasol really suit the corporate woman who wants to look polished but not overdone.
I’m always up for playing with more makeup from Asian brands so if you have any requests be sure to let me know 😀 I have next to no annual leave next year for travel, but I have a feeling I may cave and purchase some leave next year if the travel bug won’t leave me 🙁
