Since starting Project Pan 100, I have really enjoyed the process of “shopping my stash”, which is the process of going through your collection and finding something new and wonderful to add to your daily rotation.
On my desk I have a stack of drawers which houses all the products in my everyday rotation. It’s all pretty standard stuff, base products, lips and eyes and just enough shades to cater for my day to day needs.
I know some people will rotate products out once a week or so, but I’m a creature of habit and like to really give things a solid use before I swap them out. So generally I’ll use say my blush till I’ve either made a decent dent or I see the first sliver of pan. After that, I’ll place it back into my collection and reach for something new to try out or I’ll even go back and pick a product I previously hit pan on so that I can completely use it up!
I find this process helps keep my makeup experience fresh, so I don’t feel stagnant on the same products for months on end. But it is actually working towards my goal of using up the products I have now, appreciating what I have, rather than using something a few times and then moving on to the next best thing.
Do you guys shop your stash often? If so, what process do you follow?
