If there was a lip oil I’d recommend trying, it would be the Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil. This is actually a lip oil version of the 1st Dior lip balm. I’ll be honest, I hadn’t heard of lip oils before I saw Dior release theirs and ever since I’ve seen various brands pop up with their own version. In fact I not so recently reviewed the one from Summer Friday called Dream Lip Oil which I enjoyed using but I’d have to say I still prefer the Dior version which you can pick up for either $40USD or $64AUD.
Packaging is not surprisingly gorgeous and elegant as more Dior products are. It makes me want to use it, however I will admit that it looks best when it’s brand new and untouched. After several uses, the constant dipping in and out causes these little bubbles to form in the formula which start to look a little… messy? Additionally just with the nature of use, you may start to contaminate with residue the wand picks up from your lips which you can clearly see the result in the tube after. Very similar to clear eye brow gel tubes that look pretty gross after the first 10 or so uses.

That aside, the formula itself is lovely on the lips. It has a bit of a minty sweet cherry smell to it (which is not surprising as it is infused with cherry oil), though it’s pretty subtle and goes away once you apply it and get on with your day. However if you’re sensitive to mint and any sensation that mint scented products can give, you might want to reconsider. I didn’t think the slight minty sensation was that strong in comparison to other lip products I’ve tried, but it is there and worth noting if it’s something you’re highly sensitive over.
The Dior Addict lip glow oil comes in a range of different shades from:
- 000 Universal Clear
- 001 Pink
- 004 Coral
- 006 Berry
- 007 Raspberry
- 012 Rosewood
- 015 Cherry
- 020 Mahogany
- 061 Poppy Coral
- 062 Bronzed Glow
I personally picked the colour Pink because it gave my lips a natural glow since it was very close to my own lip colour. With the huge range above I’m hoping everyone has a colour that can align with their skin tones. In terms of wear, I find it starts to fade after a few hours though I personally don’t tend to reapply. I find one application in the morning is enough to leave my lips beautifully moisturised for the entire day hence why I don’t bother reapplying as I use the lip oil more for hydration than aesthetics. I find these also work great as a primer before applying any lip colour, though I’ve seen some people use them as a top coat to add extra gloss to their lips too.
All in all, this would be my current top pick when it comes to any lip oil and if you’re in the market for one and have the budget for it I’d highly recommend it!
