“Three quarters of the world’s coral reefs are at risk due to overfishing, pollution and global warming. Saving 10% of the oceans’ ecosystem as “No-Take Marine Protected Areas” is the best change for corals’ survival.
Chantecaille is a completely new brand to me, I’ve seen it floating around the internet for a while now but never personally tried any of their products until I laid eyes on this palette.
Like many kids, when I was little I wanted to be a marine biologist. It’s the reason dolphins are my favourite animals, it’s the reason my original nickname was Flipper. Which only made purchasing this palette even more enticing as 5% of the proceeds benefit the Marine Conservation Institute in an effort to protect 10% of the world’s oceans by 2020.
The palette comes with four pans, two eye shadows, one eyeliner and one blush. All are highly neutral and very wearable colours for virtually all skin types. I suspect this palette was designed to be suitable to as many people as possible.
Each pan has the shape of a coral embossed on top with a gold powder over spray on the top which wipes away with 1-2 swipes.
The powder is incredibly soft, like velvet to the touch. I have to admit having experienced a number of fantastic palettes and powders lately, SUQQU and Tom Ford come to mind. I have no idea if this is the case for all Chantecaille powder products, but this palette is a dream to work with.
This palette created a beautiful soft neutral eye and soft flushed cheeks. I’m not sure how the palette performs with darker skin tones, but for my NC15-20 skin it works perfectly. I purchased the palette for around $79US via a mail forwarding service.

Have you tried ordering directly from Saks Fifth Avenue or Nordstrom before? I’ve never tried it but they ship directly to Australia and the prices are similar to US prices and when I did live in the US, I would shop at Nordstrom and Saks regularly for makeup. I recently moved back to Perth after living in the US for 6 years and my jaw nearly hit the floor when I saw the cosmetic prices here! I couldn’t believe a Revlon foundation costs $40AUS when it costs $13US and since the US & Aussie dollar is almost one to one, for $40US I could get a NARS/Lancome/Make Up For Ever foundation! When I told the makeup counter sales people I knew well at Saks that I was moving, they literally told me to buy anything that I was ever planning on putting on my face since makeup in Oz is expensive lol

I have, but Saks and Nordstrom don’t seem to deliver any makeup or skin care internationally. They only deliver things like clothes or accessories 🙁 Hence why I still need to lean on mail forwarding companies for my departmental store makeup needs as it’s still cheaper than buying anything direct from Australia.
You’re right, the price of cosmetics is just insane. I pretty much buy ALL my makeup from America now with friends via mail forwarders.

Wow that’s horribly misleading, they even show the prices adjusted for the Australian dollar and everything! They should remove those sections from their website then if they don’t ship internationally (like Macy’s, they don’t have a beauty section on their international website) 🙁

I agree!! The worse part is they allow you to add them to your cart and only tell you as you’re about to pay for the order, it really annoys me to no end!

I also saw this palette floating around and loved the look of it. I Love the corally shade but I don’t think this would work well on my tan skin.

Aww! That’s too bad 🙁 I wish I had a friend to test this out on!
