As part of Chanel’s Summer 2015 Mediterranee collection they released five new shades to their Stylo Eyeshadow line. Chanel’s Stylo Eyeshadows ($34USD) are a twist up cream eye shadow that has a cooling effect when applied directly to the lid. I personally prefer to apply them directly from the tube to my lid and then blend with my fingers as opposed to using a brush as I find the finish to be inconsistent and not very smooth.
Out of the five colours available I decided to go with three that I would not only get the most use out of, but would appeal to my personal tastes.
Caroube is a beautiful bronze shimmer, and probably the one I get the most use out of. It’s great for everyday and is the perfect wash of colour all over the lids with some subtle blending into the crease. Perfect for any go to simple eye look.
Laurier Rose feels like a softer rose gold shimmery shade, still something I love to use as a wash over the lid but potentially not a shade that everyone would feel comfortable pulling off as it has a high “shine” effect and a warmer tone.
And finally Azulejo is the signature shade for the collection, a blue toned turquoise shade. And yes, I don’t wear this shade every day and couldn’t see myself wearing it too often. However if you may have noticed, blue, especially aqua blue is my all-time favourite colour and I love to wear on my bottom lash line. Given that, I couldn’t say no to this shade.
All in all, I’m loving this new collection from Chanel. Quite honestly I look forward to all of Chanel’s collections and new releases, especially those from their Spring and Summer lines. If you’re someone who loves something simple for your eyes that doesn’t take a ton of finessing or time, then I would recommend quality cream shadows that won’t crease on your lids throughout the day, which these certainly are.
I purchased these three online, and you can purchase them from either Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus.
