When it comes to any sort of gel to help set your brows, I’m there! I’m constantly having to comb my brows or set them as my hairs love to do their own thing. A few months ago, Benefit did a huge brow products launch and one of the products was the Benefit Ready, Set, Brow Setting Gel, which is essentially a clear gel that allows you to set the hairs of your brows.
Let’s take a moment to admire the packaging, it’s unique and certainly not one of the main reasons I reach for it in the first place… However, the thing that really drew me in was the shape of the wand, it was very different and unique in comparison to the other wands I had tried. It comes with two sides, a shorter side and longer side. Personally, I much prefer the longer side, because it stopped the wand from depositing too much product on my brows.
In my experience, these brow gels are perfect for the first… 10 applications? And I found that it did last at least till lunchtime, after which there was no saving my brows (re-applying is not an option here). However, once you really get into this product, like every other clear gel it starts to become… less clear and cloudier… and that’s when you run into problems. The gel will dry cloudy, and if you accidently touch your brows during the day, it will become flaky. So you essentially end up with crispy grey brows.
I’ve found the only way to combat this was to use the tiniest amount now, however the tiniest amount gives me next to no long-term hold. So personally, I wouldn’t repurchase this product. I don’t think it out performed many others on the market that are way cheaper! Ultimately, clear brow gels need to be replaced often with me so I’ll continue to pick up the cheap ones instead.
Have you guys tried this product before? What was your experience?
If you’re still keen to try it out, you can find it for $42AUD or $24USD at either Sephora, Ulta or Macys.

Maybe you should try the Surrat brow pomade?
Karima mckimmie on youtube says it doesn’t budge and it’s clear.
I personally never really got the point of clear brow gel until I accidentally swiped my brows and realised how weird they looked, but I tend to just use coloured brow mascaras because my brows aren’t very thick and I’m too lazy to fill them in every time i wear makeup.

Oooh noted, I’ll give it a shot! I’m thinking of moving back to tinted brow gels to see if maybe even if they try with a bit of foundation in them they won’t make my brows look crusty! Thanks for the recommendation 😀
