I-Intense is one of Almay’s latest eye palettes to hit the market, it’s designed to help teach people how to create beautiful smoky eyes for their given eye colour. The instructions are extremely clear, even the packaging makes it abundantly clear which colour goes where, unfortunately that’s where the compliments stop for me.
Note that the palette I purchased was the one for Hazel eyes, so the formulations could be great for the other palettes.
The shadows were either too gritty or too sheer, I had to really dig to get decent swatches π And you can see in the swatches how chunky the darkest colour is, which meant lots of fall out π
The crease shade was the sheerest of all, I could get colour on my brush, but it wouldn’t transfer well onto my eyes until after about 2-3 applications. The highlighter colour is probably the only one I actually liked, I’m not sure if it really fit into this palette because it gives off a lot f shine in comparison to the rest, but unfortunately I still found it to be pretty gritty too π
I’d give this palette a miss, I’m sure for the same price you can find some gorgeous silk pigmented eye shadows that give better results. To me the whole point of smoky eyes is being able to blend out pigmented smooth colours, with this palette I found doing so to be a very difficult task π

I actually swatched this very same palette the other day at Priceline as I liked the colours, especially the middle one. But agree with you, the pigmentation was pretty bad and it was hard to get any colour to transfer on to my hand while swatching so I left it. Thanks for your honest review.

Thank you for your reassurance, I’m sure you understand that everytime I write a negative review, there is a slight bit of worry that “will I receive retaliation?” either from other readers who love the products or the company themselves. But I strongly believe in negative and positive reviews, because I want to know what to avoid too. So thank you for the confidence π

I have a similar Almay palette, from a few years back, for brown eyes featuring a sand color, a dark brown color and a light purple and experienced the same issues as you did with this one, even with Shadow Insurance! Was hoping they might’ve improved the formula somewhat ._.

I bought the one for green eyes, the pigment was a little light but i didnt find it gritty. my main complaint is that the colors dont look nice together. im sure with more time i could get it to look ok, but im not impressed.

Ahh kk, thanks heaps for sharing. I’m sure otherwise will find your experience really helpful! I know I did, going to avoid Almay shadows from now on.
