If you’re as nail polish obsessed as I am, you most likely will have heard of Seche Vita Top Coat. It has to be one of the most popular top coats, and rightfully so! I can start and end my weekly manicures in under 20 mins, go straight to bed and my nails will be perfect the next day!
But after finishing my first bottle of Seche (you have no idea how accomplished I feel! I finished an actual bottle of nail polish! Ignore the fact it’s a top coat :P) I was itching to try something I could actually get locally that did the same job. And I think I’ve found it in Sally Hansen’s Mega Shine.
It dries incredibly fast, and keeps my polish strong and chip free (so long as the polish I’m using isn’t completely crap!) and a beautiful shine to it too. And the fact that I can get it at Priceline? Did I ever mention how addicted I am to that store? I wonder if it’s like the Ulta of America? (Damn those lucky Americans are their abundance of products!)
There are only two things that bug me about this product tho. Non-see through bottle means I can’t tell when I’m running low. And the clear brush means I can see when my polish “rubs off” on to it. I know it happens, but I’d rather not know!
At least my manicures are set for now, top coat wise. I’m nearing the end of my OPI Nail Envy Strengthener which I use as a base coat, so I may be in the market for a new base coat soon! Can you guys recommend any? π

Yeah, Priceline is more like Ulta than Sephora. The biggest difference is that Ulta doesn’t have any open samplers or swatches on display. You really do have to know what you want before you buy anything : On the other hand, Ulta has a much bigger range than any Priceline I’ve ever seen, so it’s kind of worth it?

No testers at Ulta!? Seriously? Wow O_O That’s the only reason I’d buy in person, so I could test the stuff out! Wow :O Still, would love to visit an Ulta one day =D

I’ve heard of Seche Vita but haven’t had a chance to try it especially as, like you said, it’s hard to get hold of. I’d found it before on ebay but it was quite expensive. But it looks like I’ll need to take a trip to Priceline to buy the Sally Hansen top coat =D

Seche Vite is available at some Hairhouse Warehouse stores…. for something crazy like $20. They also have IMN’s Out the Door if you feel like testing another quick dry top coat some time. I like Poshe top coat myself.
I currently use Creative Stickey as my base coat – it’s not Big 3 free though. It forms a rough coat on your nails so the polish adheres better. I find it does leave a slight green cast so if you’re using a lot of sheer polishes this may be an issue.
I’ve heard good things about Nailtek Foundation II, but not tried it myself.

Ooh, I’ve heard a lot of great things about Creative Stickey too, do you know a place locally that sells it? Or will I have to go online?
Cool, I didn’t realise Hairhouse Warehouse sold nail polishes, there is one near my house, I’ll check it out! Thanks π

You might have to look for the top coats, they’re usually tucked away somewhere in a corner and totally eclipsed by the huge bottles of cheapie nail polish.
Don’t actually know of any places that sell it locally – online is usually cheaper anyway, just need to order other nail polishes hehehe…. π

My favorite top coat for over polish is called Wham Bam, you can order online at linenbatiste.com It dries fast and really keeps polish very nice looking. The topcoat I use over pink and whites is INM Total Eclipse, its non-yellowing which is always nice.

Never heard of that top coat before, thanks for the rec π
