Another item I picked up during my trip to the USA (this is why I don’t need to buy makeup at home anymore, every time I travel I buy enough to use and blog about for an entire year!!), I love being able to freely browse the makeup counters in the USA without any fear that I may be over paying for cosmetics ๐ It’s a wonderful feeling, though admittedly rather superficial (you do know what sort of blog you’re reading right?)
I’d probably say over the last few months I’ve been wearing lipstick a lot more consistently, I love reds and plum shades but I can never turn down a nude. So versatile and a shade I feel comfortable wearing for any situation~ I hadn’t heard of the Hourglass Lip Stylo before picking up my own, which is essentially a range of lip sticks that focus on just nude. You have more beige nudes, or pink nudes, depending on your preferences and skin tone.
I went with No. 6 which leans to being on the more beige spectrum, personal preference!
Application was simple, I found the formula pretty creamy without being drying. But I will say the formula wasn’t necessarily hydrating either so for long term use I personally would need to apply a lip balm first (I suffer from dry lips). Longevity wise? Average. Anywhere between 2 to 4-5 hours depending on your activities, but pretty expected for a nude shade.
All in all, I actually really enjoyed using this, but I can’t find myself going back to try the other shades. I think for me, it would be a home run if I didn’t need to apply lip balm beforehand for long term use, because it makes it difficult to maintain the colour easily throughout the working day.
If you’re interested in trying these out for yourself, you can pick one up online for $30USD, not sure on availability in Australia unfortunately ๐
