I’m trying to be good with my spending and only making purchases from the limited edition collections that I think I will actually use. I’ve been burnt by a lot of too sheer lipsticks from collections in the past and so I’ve been focusing more on lipsticks I feel will show up on me.
I actually can’t remember when I picked up Mayday, whether that was on my not so recent trip or online, but I know it was part of the Summer 2014 collection (Transatlantique) and I had to admit the colour really won me over! It’s bold, but not such a deep plum red that makes me feel like I stick out. I love that with this shade, I can apply it sheer for work, or deeper for after work / weekends. It’s one of the things I love about deeper coloured lipsticks 😀
I have a bit of a love hate relationship with the Dior Addict Lipstick range. I love that formula, it may not be as hydrating as the Chanel Coco Shine, but it is much better than many I’ve tried and sits nicely on the lips. But the packaging makes it so difficult to tell each lipstick bullet apart. Not only can you not see the actual shade anywhere, but the print for the colour name is in silver, so it takes a bit for your eyes to focus to read the label. Nothing like black on white text.
The photos speak for themselves in terms of colour, I think warmer reds tend to suit my skin tone a bit better than cooler tones personally. What do you guys thinks?
If you’re keen, you can pick up the Dior Addict Lipstick in Mayday online for $32USD.
