If you live in Melbourne you’ll know that the weather is kinda/sorta picking up! But I have to admit that these photos are a big lie, because I’m not a fan of tanning or getting that beach bronzed look. I love my pale skin and embrace it to the fullest, but you know that costuming / makeup for me is all about having fun and often playing pretend π
I changed the setting for this shoot to give it a warmer background. Also you’ll notice my right arm is literally sticking out for all the photos, that’s me holding my gold reflector to give the bronzed effect you see in the photos. It’s tough running a one person photo studio, but someone has to do it!
Finally before I get into the steps, check out my brows! They are brown!! I’m such a n00b with changing the colour of my brows and am so excited that I managed to literally change them using nothing more than brow wax, concealer and eyeshadow! =D First for me π
Steps to reproduce:
Face
Apply MAC Prep & Prime all over a clean face, then with a stippling brush apply one pump of Bobbi Brown’s Skin Foundation SPF 15 in Sand all over your face. Save a tiny bit extra for under your eyes if you have any noticeable circles. Pat down with NARS Loose Powder in Flesh.
Cheeks
Suck in your cheeks and apply NAR’s Powder Blush in Orgasm into the hollows. Use Canmake Highlighter on the apples of your cheeks, bridge of your nose, forehead, cupid’s bow and chin.
Eyes
Lightly apply NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base all over the lids. The use MAC Brow Finisher in Clear and coat your brows till they flat. Go over them with MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20. Let it dry and apply another coat. Top off with a light dusting of any face powder.
Then with an angled brush, pat on MAC Eyeshadow in Woodwink all over your brows. Don’t drag your brush else you will take off the concealer.
With a fluffy eyeshadow brush, load it up with Woodwink and dust it ALL over your lid and crease. Then grab more product and wing out the shadow, but take it all the way to your hair line.
Next, using an angled brush and MAC Eyeshadow in Goldmine, trace a mask around your eyes. You can go with any shape you want. Fill in your mask with Goldmine, also use this shadow on the area just above your crease to further blend out the Woodwink shadow.
With a flat eyeshadow brush, lightly dab MAC Lipglass in clear all over the gold shadow and along the sides of your nose, this is our glitter adhesive. Then lightly dab on Coastal Scent Glitter Powder in Sahara Sand over the Lipglass. Using MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner in Pure Show, line your lower lash line. And using Savvy by DB in Brilliant Bronze, line your upper lash line.
Curl your lashes and coat with L’Oreal Extra-Volume Collagene – Noir
Lips
Apply Maybelline Color Sensational Pink Please all over your lips. Blot with a tissue, then apply Maybelline Color Sensational Nearly There on top for a dusky pink lip.
