Broken Doll, I shot this look with Surfaced Studio and my good friend Neil Creek 🙂 If you like you can check out the rest of the photos here, Neil is an amazing photographer as you well know! You’ll notice how many of the photos look like they were shot at night, but check out the behind the scene photos at the end of this post and you can clearly see it wasn’t night time at all! 😀
I was shooting for a really abandoned sad look. Like I was someone’s doll that they just tossed aside because I’m broken and forgotten. Not surprisingly the toughest part of this look was getting the costume ready in time, I had about one full day on a weekend to sew the dress, hence why it’s not exactly the most fitted perfect dress. But when you’re low on time, you take what you can get! 🙂 At least it was very soft and comfy 😀 I’d love to do a re-take of this one day and make it even more elaborate.
I really enjoy the posing for this! I literally just had to lay there and be as still as possible, next time I think I need to also try and hold my breath since every time I watch this video fast I can see my chest going up and down but everything else is still hehe. Hope you enjoy!
Thanks again to Neil and Surfaced Studio for all their help 😀

WOW it really looks like your face is cracked, you totally nailed the creepy part (and I mean that as a compliment even though it sounds strange!). I hate to be a pain but what’s the small tapered brush you’re using to apply the dark brown Maybelline eyeshadow after you used the Sigma brush applying Wedge eyeshadow?
Celina says
Aww thank you!! And not a pain at all! I think that’s the Smudger GL-4 by (according to what is on the brush, I got it at a PR event) S.I.L.K Green Line. Hope that helps 😀
Jeanne says
Awesome, I googled the info and found the brush at the online retailer. Thanks! 🙂

There is something so scary about old broken porcelain dolls, i imagine it would make a very frightening kind of horror movie! This look is just so inspiring, I love how you did the cracks on your arm as well.
Celina says
Thank you so much 🙂 That’s really sweet of you, it was exactly what I was going for and I’m so honoured that you could see it 😀
