As I mentioned yesterday, this week’s Book of Fables is inspired by Shu Uemura’s latest holiday 2011 promotional posters. I really enjoy basing my looks off cosmetic brand promotional posters, unfortunately most posters are based on very neutral looks, so when I find one that has a bit of colour I jump at it π
I can’t admit to being skilled enough to exactly replicate the look. To be honest I feel like I’m struggling to use eye shadow properly, I feel like my looks always end up more a messy / blurred interpretation. But you know, just gotta keep learning, practising and hopefully get better. The false lashes were made by me using two lashes combined with a ton of silver glitter. Despite the background, the shoot was done entirely outdoors and I have three very itchy mozzie bites to prove it.
If you’ve seen the original video from Shu Uemura, you’ll can definitely tell where my inspiration came from π
I was ofcourse very smart and shot this in the afternoon on a 32 degree day, round of applause for me and my foresight everyone! And with that, I hope you enjoy the video π

Your eye colour looks so intense here! Also love the lashes and lip colour.
And wtf how are you not dripping in sweat in these photos?! It’s been so hot on the Gold Coast lately and it feels like as soon as I get up I start drowning in sweat D:

Thank you! Yes, every time the sun shines right in my eyes they tend to look a lot brighter~ I wish I could look that bright all the time without the help of the sun XD;
Oh wow! I love the Gold Coast, I always have the best time whilst up there!! *_*

Thank you lovely <3 π Even though the lashes are DIY, I've decided to keep them π

I haven’t had a chance to watch a video in ages! Horrible follower.
I love the lashes! Do you have to double them up for the glitter to layer on better? What success do you think I’d have if it were just a single pair of falsies?
Celina says
Hehe, not a problem π
I layered the lashes because in the official promotional video the lashes were extra long on the outer corner, so it was mainly for that reason. Though it did make the glitter look more “solid”. I think if you used a single pair of lashes, depending on what type they were, the glitter wouldn’t appear as solid, and more sparse. This also depends on the type of lash glue you use (goopy kind etc) and whether the glitter you use is as fine as mine or bigger. Hope that helps π

I’ll try it on a pair and show you!

π Thank you! I can’t wait to see π
