It’s a new year, so I wanted to start it off with quite figuratively a fresh face. Figuratively because my face only looks fresh, even in person I was told how awake and refreshed I looked.
But to me, “fresh” also means clean, when in fact I’m wearing a ton of foundation and concealer to get this so called “flawless fresh” look, not much more than the average Book of Fables though, but my skin without makeup is by no means as clear and flawless as it looks in my Book of Fables. It’s all in the makeup baby!

Face
Prime the face, then apply 2 thin coats of foundation all over your face. Taking a concealer, go over all areas of the face as needed so that the skin appears flawless. Some areas with darker pigmentation may require 2 layers of concealer. Set the under eye area with a very finely milled powder, then set the rest of the face by patting on a powder foundation. This gives you extra coverage.
Cheeks
Lightly dust a soft pink powder blush over the apples of your cheeks, and apply a matte highlighter to your cheekbones. Don’t use a heavy hand, we want a very light application.
Eyes
Prime eyes and apply a matte eyeshadow either equal to your own skin colour, or at most 2-3 shades darker. We just want to try and cover up any darkness on the lids, or in my case the faint veins that show through.
Curl your lashes and apply 1 medium coat of mascara. Not too heavy, but enough to define and slightly lengthen your lashes.
Lips
Using a lip brush, apply a pink tinted lip balm.

Isn’t it ironic that a “fresh flawless face” requires even more makeup? π
Love it though. You look good here π
Celina says
Completely ironic, it always makes me roll my eyes a little when I see those skin care ads that clearly have a ton of makeup and photoshopping!
Thanks so much, you’re such a sweetie! <3

Love the Fresh Flawless look, makes you look awake and ready on a go. Although I wish I could always wake up like this without putting any make up on. My skin is horrible with blemishes and uneven skin-tone is not a pretty thing.
Celina says
All thank you <3 I wish the same, wish I would roll out of bed exactly like this!

these pics look like skin care ads!
when i had my wedding photos taken, i wasn’t so happy because i thought the makeup was too much. surprisingly i looked like i didn’t have much makeup at all.
Celina says
Thanks! That’s what inspired me, I always knew that skin care ads weren’t truly “fresh faced” :/
That’s the thing about photography and makeup isn’t it? You lose about 10-20% of the makeup’s intensity in photographys which is why everytime I do shoots, I really pack on the makeup @_@

Photos look amazingggg !
Sometimes makes me wonder how much makeup goes in to those pimple clearing ads or etc T-T” /feels cheated.
But you look gorgeous π
Celina says
I reckon tooons of makeup goes into those ads! Same with mascara ads, they always use false lashes on the models, so you never really know if a mascara is any good >_< Bad marketing *sigh*
Thank you <3 <3

You look good with this look! It’s funny how much makeup goes into a fresh faced look. Makes you wonder on all those “nude and fresh makeup” ads they run in mags and all that. π
Celina says
Thank you! I bet they use a ton of makeup for those ads! π‘ Not to mention false lashes for mascara ads!
