The Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Seeker Highlighter is a stunning range of highlighters that give the skin a beautiful “lit from within” glow. The range comes in three different shades, I decided to pick up the Sun Idol shade which I felt in photos on the website looked like it would suit me best. Though I think I could have gone for Ethereal too. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Seeker Highlighter is available from Sephora Australia for $67AUD or Sephora USA, Revolve or Macy’s for $38USD.
Application
When I first discovered this highlighter and saw Sun Idol on the website, it appeared a lot more rose gold to me. However once I received it in the mail, it came off much more gold and less rose, which at first worried me as gold in generally isn’t a shade that looks great on my skin tone. Never the less the money was spent, so I decided to give it a try anyways and I loved it! I’m still not 100% sure the colour is best suited for my skin tone, but I love the quality and texture of highlighter, plus the application is amazing. The powder feels very firm, yet still has a nice buttery consistency to it. I find most powder products that come off buttery are very soft to the touch, which makes it easy to pick up too much product. This isn’t the case here, it takes a few light swirls to get the perfect amount for me.
Pigmentation
This isn’t the most pigmented of highlighters and that’s honestly what I love about it. A few swipes gives you a very soft beautiful glow, but not so subtle that it’s hard to even tell if you are wearing a highlighter. Enough to standout without being blinding, which was the trend a few years ago.
The other thing I really love about this highlighter is the buildability. I love a good highlight in general, but in a corporate office it can be a little much to go too hard with it, so I love to apply a soft touch as first, and then go back in to my high points with a second swipe just to give my face a little added extra lift without being too noticeable.
Packaging
I don’t make mention of packaging in every review post just because it’s not always noteworthy, however for this highlighter it is. The packaging is certainly on the bulky side which makes it less than desirable for travel. However the packaging in it self is gorgeous. It has a good weight to it that feels solid and luxe, but the design looks stunning in my opinion. I love the thick middle gold band, it really help elevate the overall look of the product.
Overall
Not going to lie, I really love this highlighter. I’ve probably used it a good 50 or so times now (is it my current go to highlighter in my makeup drawer) and it feels like I’ve hardly made a dent in it at all, the original designs are still completely intact. Despite the high price point, I feel like with how much use I can get out of this highlighter it will definitely last me a very long time. However if you’re looking for something that is travel friendly, given the size and weight this may not be the highlighter for you.
