For Fall 2012, Giorgio Armani released two of these beautiful luxurious black lacquered palettes that contains a blush, three eye shadows and a couple of applicators.
The first palette was called Neo Black that contained darker shades more suited for night time looks and black smokey eyes. The palette I selected was the more neutral of the two (don’t act surprised) called Neo Brown.
Let’s talk about the blush first, which is a sheer dusty rose shade that can work as a contour colour depending on your skin tone. It is rather sheer so the first application may not be overly noticeable. My skin shade is rather light and I needed about 2-3 applications for it to even appear on camera (1-2 for in person). It would work well with a light blush to create a duo-tone effect to help sculpt your face. I wouldn’t at all recommend the blush for people with darker skin tones.
The eye shadows were my favourite because unlike the blush, they were very rich and pigmented. I only need to touch my brush on each pan to get just enough pigment to create some very wearable everyday neutral eyes. Apply just a bit more colour and you can expect to sport some beautiful brown smokey eyes, perfect for the evening, meaning this palette proves to be very versatile.
The shadows blend and glide on like a dream, they truly were the highlight of the palette, though I don’t know I would recommend purchasing the entire palette just for the eye shadows. They are fantastic, but $88US is a bit steep unless you happen to love the blush as well.
If you’re interested, you can purchase it online for $88US
