It’s not often I come across mascaras that really wow me the way Lancôme’s Hypnose mascara did (it’s the only mascara I have backups for!)
But I have to admit that the formula from Guerlain’s latest mascara is highly comparable. It leaves my lashes appearing full, luscious and plentiful. I’d say this is a great cross between a volumising and defining mascara and lasts great all day!
Quite noticeably, the packaging for Guerlain’s mascara is really unique and quite handy! It has taken on the same bullet design from their lip products, where an initial pull of the wand will flip out the bullet’s mirror. A really cool luxury, and I can imagine it being useful when on the go (I myself would use it in the mornings to apply my mascara).
But at the same time, the thing that annoyed me the most about this mascara is the packaging. It’s actually quite heavy, especially the end of the wand which weighted down quite a bit when applying. It just made it a little harder to control the wand when I applied this mascara, and it could be because I’m so used to using very light wands.
To be honest, that’s a pity because I actually really enjoyed this mascara. It lasted throughout an entire working day without smudging or flaking off and I love the fact that you can purchase re-fills at a much lower price. But the weight of the wand makes it really uncomfortable to apply the mascara that I can’t justify re-purchasing a refill for this (though I’m totally keeping the packaging cause you never know!)
If you are interested, you can purchase a complete version for $49US or the refill for $26US online.
