I know that Clinique’s High Impact Mascara is a highly talked about mascara in general, I received this tube at a not so recent event thrown by Clinique for bloggers where we learnt that High Impact was actually their best selling mascara! I was definitely keen to see how this would fare, mascara and eyeliner are the two pieces of makeup I try my best to always wear to work π
Generally speaking this is a great mascara, I like the length of the wand and the thickness of the brush, very easy to use. The application whilst great, isn’t something I’d consider a HG. I need about two coats to get the usual fullness I aim for, which honestly is probably a little thicker and clumpier than the average person.
All in all, it’s definitely an above average mascara. I don’t however think it’s an overly unique one. This would really suit people with already healthy lush lashes wanting just to amp them up a bit more. These retail for $38AU / $15US online or at David Jones & Myer.

Good Reveiw. I agree with your findings. I like the length of the wand and the seperation it gives my lashes, but I don’t find it all that intense. I prefer Estee Lauder’s Volumizing Mascara. But Clinique tends to be a good everyday mascara, where Estee Lauder tends to be a Day Off type thing. All in All, good post ^_^

Thanks! π I’ve never tried any of Estee Lauder’s Mascaras before, I’m really a bit fan of mascaras that be give that oomph in one coat! So I’ll def check them out, thanks π

I got this mascara in a christmas gift some years ago, and overall I didn’t like it. It started flaking of and ended op all over my under-eye-area after a few hours. Did yours do the same, or did I just happen to get a bad tube?
Celina says
Hmm, I didn’t get any flaking at all. Sometimes I will get a little bit of light smudging just under my eyes, but I get that with all my mascaras which makes me think it could be the eyeliner I’m using (as it doesn’t happen when I use liquid liners). At the moment I’ve had it one since 7:30am this morning, it’s 12:22am now and I don’t see any flaking. Hope that helps!

This was my HG mascara until I found tubing mascaras. My eyes are pretty sensitive and all other brands I tried (Lancome, Dior, Tarte, Maybelline) made my eyes water and smudged horrendously under my eyes, not a good look!

Ooh yes, I agree about the tubing mascaras, they are pretty amazing π

Ever since I picked up my first CoverGirl Great Lash I haven’t bothered with another mascara. But that makes me a bad beauty blogger. ~ponders~ I like this but I’m not in LOVE with the effect. To try or not to try…

Hmmm, honestly I only review and try new mascaras for the blog. I always thought that if I wasn’t so interesting in trying new makeup and just loved makeup for it’s use, I’d only ever use the same 1-2 mascaras π
