Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like Chanel has been releasing some beautiful products in their last few collections. They always have this one signature product that just looks amazing in the pan. Of course it only looks great if you don’t use it π After a couple of uses the beautiful patterns usually disappear so I think that’s something that always needs to be considered when making a collection purchase. Pretty to look at, but keep in mind it won’t always look the same after a while.
Blush Horizon de Chanel
That aside, here are a few products from the Chanel Spring line that caught my eye. First up is the signature product, the blush. It comes with a mixture of different shades of pinks, that swatch or applies as a soft baby pink shade. The pigmentation is average to slightly about average which is actually what I want in my blush products. I don’t like using blushes that are too pigmented at first swatch, I prefer them to be buildable because I find the application to be so unforgiving if I apply too much in the first go.
It gives a gorgeous soft pop of colour to the cheeks. I wouldnβt call it a show stopper, it’s one of those shades that just compliments you. It doesn’t stand out or draw any extra attention; subtle blushes are my favourite kind.
Les 4 Ombres β 34 Eclosion
Next is this eye shadow palette, which contains four neutral pink shades. You have a semi-matte dark brown, a warm honey gold shimmer shade, a light shimmery tan shade great for highlighting and finally a soft pink shimmer shade for that bit of colour to the eyes.
The palette kind of reminds me of Prelude, which was released late last year. Mostly because the two are relatively neutral and wearable for everyday. However I found Prelude contains far more mattes and generally has deeper neutral shades, where as Eclosion is contains softer shades with more shimmer. Either way I love both π The pigmentation is great for everyday wear, but not for say a Book of Fables chapter.
The type of makeup I use for my Book of Fable chapters and makeup I use everyday is very different in both quality, pigmentation, texture etc. I should probably do a post on this instead of breaking out into a mini ramble though huh, hehe.
Rouge Coco Shine
Ah, Rouge Coco Shines, my favourite lipsticks from the Chanel line. I was never a big lipstick fan until I discovered these last year because they are so soft, creamy and moisturising.
The two shades I picked up were Flirt and Canduer. Out of the two, Flirt is far more pigmented, it almost looks like an orange shade under some lights, but really it’s more a coral shade that appears pink when worn. Canduer on the other hand appears like a wearable soft pink shade in the tube, but it barely has any pigmentation when swatched and worn. It’s incredibly sheer, so if I were recommend one I’d probably have to recommend Flirt, even though I personally love Canduer just as much!
Using the blush, Eclosion and Candeur.
Using the blush, Eclosion and Flirt.
The lipsticks set me back $32US each, the eye shadow was $58US and I forget how much the blush is π But I know it wasn’t cheap π I must truly be an addict because despite enjoying the Spring 2012 collection, I’m already super keen to get my hands on the upcoming Vegas collection! π

I love the look of Canduer, perfect for a hint of subtle colour.
I love the blush too, it looks so pretty (too pretty that I would probably never use it! LOL).

π I’m really glad someone else loves Canduer as well, I had a feeling it wouldn’t be that well received O_o Isn’t that the problem with expensive blushes? They look so amazing :_: Too amazing to use >_<

I actually love these soft eye shadows as compared to my usual dark browns. π They give a youthful look.

Very true, good point π Lighter shimmery colours feel very young!

I’m impressed and surprised to like the palette as much as I do. Maybe i’m finally transitioning back to spring (after wearing summer makeup all fall and winter long! haha!)

Hehehe, you make your own trends! π
