The 3rd and final part of the Hello Kitty range I was provided! It was so difficult trying to decide which ones to feature on the blog and what not to, so I decided to feature all of them today for you. Unfortunately none of the reviews are in depth given the short amount of time I’ve had with these, but I wanted to at least provide swatches and an initial impression to help you guys in your shopping sprees π
Let’s get into it!
Hello Kitty Semi Matte Lipstick – Bollywood
The lipsticks from this line have really cute packaging, and the texture, pigmentation and application was very good. But what put me off was the smell, it has the same sort of smell most cheaper lipsticks have. Not as strong, but it’s there. Unfortunately for someone like me who is very sensitive to smells, that would bug me. Similarly I really dislike the NYX lipsticks for this reason, only their smell is different, but it gives me a really bad headache X_x; Might be worth checking this out in the store to see if the smell would bother you too. This product goes for $12.95.
Hello Kitty Shine & Kiss Lipstick – Violetta
Pretty much have the same thoughts regarding this lipstick as I did for the one above. The main difference is that this particular lipstick is less pigmented, probably better for people wanting a softer shade. This product goes for $12.95.
Hello Kitty Lip Gloss – Baby Lip
I don’t wear glosses much, but if I did I’d quite enjoy this. It didn’t have any distinct smell, it was sticky but not unbearable and kept my lips relatively moisturised. Not too shabby at all, and it has a lovely sweet scent. This product goes for $13.95.
Hello Kitty Lip Balm – Kawai Kiss
First, I did not misspell “Kawai”, I know it’s really Kawaii, but that’s how it’s printed on the media release, so meh!
I really love how pigmented this lip balm is, it’s just as good if not better than some of the lipsticks from this collection. The texture is pretty soft and very comfortable on the lips, but what I can’t handle is the smell. It has a pretty strong rose fragrance that I know plenty of people would love, unfortunately I’m not one of those people. I’m not a big fan of rose scents in general, if I must have it around I’d prefer it to be just a hint. This product goes for $9.95.
Hello Kitty Diamond Gloss – Pink Paradise
Hmm, I like the idea of this product. The packaging is great, but I get absolutely no pigmentation when I apply this. It’s literally a clear gloss with specks of shimmer in it. I do love the smell of this though, smells like candy π Anyways, it looks a ton better in the tube than it does the lips. This product goes for $9.95.
Overall this entire range was pretty good, some great products, most were good and a couple mediocre. But that’s typical of any range of products, let me know what your thoughts on the collection are! If I had to think of another equivalent brand, I’d almost think NYX.

Oh my goodness, are your eyes naturally green?! They’re so beautiful! Can I just ask if you own any of the NYX Jumbo Pencils? Are they supposed to be used as a based only? I was so excited at the prospect of using them solely on my eyes because the eyeshadow fall out tends to irritate my eyes. But at the end of the day, the NYX pencils were all smudged even though I had used primer. Thanks for the post, professional and informative as always π

Hi! Ah no, my eyes are naturally hazel though, I wonder if my white balance was off to give them a green tinge XD; Yes, I loooove the NYX Jumbo Pencils! I would not use them on their own, you can use them as a base if you like, but make sure to really pack on the powder to stop them from creasing. If you have particularly oily lids I’d recommend priming your lids first and letting the primer dry (if you put the pencil right after your primer you won’t get the same colour intensity!) THEN powder. Always finish with powder, that’s the key for me.
Ultimately the pencils, unless super smudged out so you only have a thin layer have never lasted a whole day for me, maybe half a day? Then you need to smooth it out again. Hope that helps!

I didn’t notice the smell with the lipsticks but I did notice that they don’t last too long on the lips as some of my high end lipsticks do. I liked the small bullet though means they don’t take up so much room in my purse. It’s funny but violetta was really purple on my lips compared to yours.

Oh that’s disappointing! I have to admit I thought it was strange how pink it looked on me as well, given the colour in the tube. I wonder if my camera settings were off O_o;
