Last weekend I finally got my hands on MAC’s Vanilla Pigment. I think every beauty b/vlogger I follow can’t praise this particular pigment enough so I knew I had to have it. Unfortunately, pigment packaging has changed, and I’m not too keen.
I kinda liked the fatter tubs, just because they fit perfectly in my pigment storage containers and I found them easier to use and take product out with minimal wastage. But the main thing that bugs me is the lack of screw top now, the new pigment lids kinda “click” into place. Where as the old ones had to be screwed in, which I found much more secure.
Formula is exactly the same, as is the price ($39AU). The SA told me that amount is almost the same, but the websites say the old pigments held 0.26oz as opposed to the new ones that only hold 0.15 oz so not sure what he was going on about :/ I will say the new pigments are much lighter, less product and lighter packaging.
Ultimately according to the SA the main reason for the change was because it got too expensive to manufacture the old packaging. It always comes down to the bottom line. So if you can still grab the old ones, do it!
