Dior Rouge Blush Colour & Glow is yet another stunning new addition to the Dior makeup line that comes in six beautiful shades. It is a duo palette in matte and glow finishes that allows you to use them either as a blush and highlighter or a contour shade and highlighter depending on which shade you select. For this review I’ll be talking specifically about 257 Dioriviera shade, which is a matte pink blush and a shimmering rosy-gold highlighter, my favourite colour combination for my skin type.
However I loved this line so much, I went ahead and picked up two other shades which I’ll review separately in future blog posts and be sure to update this blog post if you are interested. These are available from the official Dior website for $92AUD or $88AUD each (depends which website you go to).
Colours
The Dior Rouge Blush Colour & Glow comes in the following six colours:
For Blush & Highlighter
- 257 Dioriviera: a matte pink blush and a shimmering rosy-gold highlighter
- 457 Diorette: a matte coral blush and a shimmering peachy-gold highlighter
- 287 Dioramour: a matte powdery pink blush and a shimmering lilac highlighter
- 757 Wildior: a matte plum blush and a shimmering gold highlighter
For Contour & Highlighter
- 100 Diorissimo: a matte taupe contour and a gold highlighter for very light to light skin
- 200 Diorama: a matte brown contour and a bronze highlighter for medium to dark skin
Packaging
If you’ve been a fan of Dior products for a few years you’ll have noticed that in recent years they’ve opted to reduce the thickness of their packaging for a much slimmer version. Which as a bit (HAH) of a makeup collector I love as it makes storage just so much easier. I also really appreciate them forgoing the standard min blush brushes that some of these products. Only because I never use those applicators (they are never great quality) and they end up just taking up so much unnecessary space. In true Dior style, the packaging is beautiful and comes with a large internal mirror that reflects true to size (none of this magnifying nonsense).
Colour Payoff
If you read my early post covering the Diorette shade then you’ll know that the colour payoff for these blush and highlighter duos is pretty light, which is something I really enjoyed. However I did find the colour payoff for the Dioriviera shade specifically to be even lighter than the Diorette. Maybe it’s because inherently the pink shade is lighter than the coral shades so it just naturally looks lightly which could well be the case. I just know that between the two I preferred the Diorette.
Longevity and Wear
As with all my makeup, I tend to wear it for around 16 hours a day. The only time I have to do my makeup is always early in the morning when I first wake up at around 6am – 7am, and then most days are just crazy until I can ease into my night time routine at around 11pm. So I really get an opportunity to test the longevity of my makeup and I’m happy to say the Dior Rouge Blush Colour & Glow did really well, I think due to the lighter colour it did seem to fade just a bit by the evening.
Final Thoughts
Like with the Diorette, I really love this product as I tend to be a blush and highlighter queen over needing a bronzer. The colour combination isn’t the one I would naturally gravitate to but I think still worked pretty okay with my skin tone. One of the main reasons I love this palette despite the colour not being my first choice is because of how wearable it is. Anything that I can throw on quickly and rush out the door is a huge win for me, and this palette is a no brainer for me. If this colour shade is up your alley, then I would 100% recommend it to you.
